I found the moble version of Facebook easier than the full site but you still need the full site in order to do some things.

Yes, although it is a challenge, and frequently annoyed by their changes (facebook's I mean) I use it, I am a bit of a strickler and put up with the standard site, as, I am (when a site is even quarter-decent like FB's forget haf) OK (being modest) with navigation using JAWS. Now, notifications! I don't know how it works on the "Mobile" site, but, notifications is now, a nonesense link, starting with the word, "Hash" and not (UK readers will/porbably will know this symbol anyway) but, not the symbol, but the "word" as I already said in a moment ago! And even then, it only provides a sumary of your recent notifications I understand. However, by a superb memory recall, I managed to remember the direct URL for notifications, which, (after logging into your account of course) is:-

OK then, what else have I forgot, *SCRATCHINGMYHEAD* um, I think that's it for now! LOL/:O - NB: or at least I hope it is!!! *SIGH*

Think I've added mine in my written profile on the Zone, which I notice Google has still in their kindness got out-of-date, as I updated it nearly a year ago, I know this, why you might just ask? Well, I'm 26 now not 25! LOL All rhight, I've had seven months and a little over, to change it, but thought Google is updated quite regularly, but with all their other projects, like a rival to Facebook! sorry, nearly strayed off, got back on topic, by saying a "...rival to facebook"! :) OK that'll be it for now on this board, I shall check this and the other thread mentioning facebook in a day or so!! Talking about Facebook: What's the registration procedure like? I mean, do you need sighted help to register or can a JAWS user do it on his/her own? Sites like Myspace require, unfortunately, this stupid, inaccessible code to enter which we can't do without sighted help or Webvisum. So I was just wondering how the Facebook registration works.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

I below post the message I gave to the other "facebook" thread under "getting to know you", in case, you think it is familiar, well, it is! :O
This topic seems to have gone quiet since I last post, well, was in this case, not quite the last to post on here, but just thought I'd report, certainly in the UK facebook has now (in their not so infinite wisdom) removed regional networks, terrible, 'cos, as, I might not be able to continue at University for long, I might soon be in no networks at all, the Blind school in England I attended, is not listed as a network, nor the related college for that matter isn't neither, not in a job yet so no workplace network, so, that'll leave 0 networks soon into the New Year for me! :( Oh never mind, but just thought I pass on this sad development, heard that FB were going to remove netowrks, as early as the middle of last year (2008), and 18 months on, it has happened, well, so far, regional ones only have gone, they've tried to simplify their privacy procedures, which, if you haven't logged in the last week, you will be forced to fill in a form, to either keep your "old" settings or adjust them in ways you couldn't before, and one of the ways they've "simplified" it, is to remove reginal networks, so London UK, or the various ones any of you from America were on, and anyone else in the world, have now all been scrubbed! I'm not happy with this change, one bit, as, you might have gathered! :O/LOL
OK just thought I'd update one and all, on the latest Facebook change, that word isn't strong enough, maybe a "fundimental revision", can't think of the equivalent change on her in magnitude, and I won't tempt fate! LOLOLOL/:(

Facebook is awesome, but it is pretty annoying with the constant changes to the site. I've never used the mobile site, nor do I plan on it.
aside from the changes, Facebook rules. I'm a bit of a Facebook whore if you will, :)

I also have not touched the mobile site, thought it was just me, in my case, done the equavalent of "staring" at it! LOL but, didn't much like it, and the constant changes are, annoying! Also seen the "LIte" page, which dispite what I read on a blind list, does work outside America, (as I heard it was only working inside the US as of the other week), and on and off, I've been an addict (as I'll call myself) LOL of facebook before now! :) Trying in my case, to be more careful nowadays, well I try to be anyway!...

Try out the FriendMail application, it's a service that will send your news feed to your email and you can reply directly by clicking links for Like Comment and everything else:

A friend of mine was in the process of signing up for Facebook. The filling-in the-form part went well, and she had received the confirmation e-mail. But, when we went to the page and after putting in the code it gives you, this next part, I don't remember ever having to go thru, but after all that, they want her to put in a phone number. is the phone number part a new thing, or did y'all get that as well? I don't remember needing to do that part of it, so just curious.

Hi Lilani, this is a couple of months old so don't know if you're still wanting to know. I think the phone number is optional, just in case you want to use facebook via text, but I could be wrong.

i remember seeing the phone number thing when i joined, i think some time in 2010 and if i remember correct it was optional, if you want to avoid all the verification codes every time you want to do something.
if anyone feels like it, search megerix and add me, i don't mind people adding me, i can always delete if it gets bad
I loved Facebook when it first started, but a friend helped me deactivate my account a few months ago because I got really frustrated with it. It has changed dramatically since my college days, and it's nowhere near as accessible or simple to use as it used to be.
i thought the same until a few days ago when i needed to log in to do something, lucky i didn't think it worth taking the time to go on and delete my account before as i use it often enough now and find the mobile site accessible and simple to use
I used to hate Facebook. But then Myspace sucked worse and so I had no choice. But until recently I didn't find the mobile site very accessible. Now I've discovered it s quite so. At least I can do all the major things I want to do.

I too loathe the changes but unusually cope otherwise with the main site. Recently and don't know about the Mobile version but I'm impressed you get the alerts coming up and they are read out by JAWS, almost like predictive texts or whatever that's called too, I'm not great on mobile phones and the like, hence my hesitation there but that sort of thing, though saying that if I edit a post it tries to say do you mean X Y Z which frustrates me! *SIGH*
